This 7-day 4×4 and quad expedition brings you to the highest dunes, the 300m (or 980ft) Erg Chigaga, through Zagora. This desert area is more tranquil, with luxury camps. It’s truly a memorable experience to arrive here in your quad.
Day 2: Marrakech to Agdz (by car, 220km)
We leave early in the morning from Marrakech and venture on a windy road through the Tichka Pass (2260m) with magnificent panorama view of the Atlas mountain range. We will pass through the city of Ouarzazate, before arriving in a small town of Agdz or “resting place.” where the old caravan route linking Marrakech to Timbuktu and played an important role in the exchange of goods across the Sahara.
After lunch in Agdz, we will start driving in our quads along the Draa Valley to the desert town of Zagora. Admire the row and row of palm trees and small traditoinal Berber villages along the valley. We overnight in Zagora.
Day 3: Zagora – Dune Chigaga (160 km)
From Zagora, we continue our quad journey to Dune Chigaga. With a length of approximately 40 km to 15 km wide, it is the largest and wildest dune of Morocco. Because it is relatively difficult to access, it is truly a memorable experience to arrive here in your quad. Enjoy having dinner in tranquility and sleeping under million of stars at the luxury desert tents.
Day 4: Dune Chigaga – Foum Zguid (by quad, 110km)
After breakfast, we leave the solitude around Dune Chigaga and continue in our quads to the small Berber village at the edge of the Sahara, Foum Zguid. Today is the ‘Day of Dunes’– feel the exhilaration around these Sahara dunes in your quad! Upon arriving in Foum Zguid, we will check into a wonderful hotel with swimming pool. Dive into the cold water after a hot day of driving on the sand. What’s more to ask for?
Day 5: Foum Zguid – Ait Ben Haddou (by quad, 170 km)
Today is our last day on the quads. We leave Foum Zguid and drive to Taznakht, a Berber town famous for its carpet made by local woman cooperatives. We will have lunch here. After lunch, we will continue our way to the famous village of Ait Ben Haddou, , with a UNESCO World Heritage kasbah, where many Hollywood films took place. Drop off your quads at our office here and congratulate yourself on an amazing quad adventure! We stay in another wonderful hotel here.
Day 6: Ait Ben Haddou to Marrakech (by car, 200 km)
After a relaxing night in Ait Ben Haddou, our guide will take you back to Marrakech, where you can do some last-minute shopping and enjoy the atmosphere at the main square of Jemaa el-Fnaa.
Day 7: Departure
You will be dropped at the airport by your guide and driver. We are sure that you will go home with an experience you can cherish forever.
