This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Day 1: Arrival to Marrakech

You will be pick up at the Marrakech Airport by members of our team. We will escort you in our mini buses to the hotel where you can refresh prior to dinner. Here you will enjoy the opportunity to get to know your fellow guests and team as we dine together. After dinner, you will be offered a brief for the next day as throughout your stay to ensure you are always prepared.

Day 2: Marrakech to Ouarzazate

After breakfast, we will take private minibus to Ouarzazate; known as the ‘Door of the Sahara’, passing through Tichka Pass (2260m). We will stop for lunch at Ait Ben Haddou where you can visit the famous kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After this, we continue a short way to Ouarzazate. Enjoy some free time around the small town inhabited by the local Berbers who constructed many of the prominent kasbahs and mud cast buildings for which the area is famous for. Have dinner at a nice restaurant.

Day 3: Ouarzazate to Lfaja

We are off today from Ouarzazate after breakfast to our first camp in Lfaija. On the way, we will visit the impressive Taourite Kasbah before reaching the panoramic landscape of the Draa valley. We will take a short break for a cool walk under the oasis of palm trees surrounded by henna plants. Then we set off for Zagora, made famous by the 'Timbuktu is 52 days away signpost'! Here we will have lunch and browse the market, a good opportunity to get into the Moroccan spirit by purchasing a traditional head scarf here to protect from the sand and hot desert sun. Finally, we arrive at our first camp site in Lfaija, where we meet our desert team. Dinner is freshly prepared by our team.

Day 4:'Le Bapteme De La Solitude'

From Lfajia, we start our first day walking with a short uphill trek through the Bani Mountain, onto the dry river of Om Laachar, while enjoying the tranquil, peaceful environment. Here you will get your first view of the amazing Sahara landscape, "le bapteme de la solitude".  After stopping for a picnic lunch, we move on to our next camp site with afternoon tea and lots of time to rest, relax.  We can even take a ‘walk in the wilderness’ experience prior to dinner.  The sky in Morocco is often so crystal clear that you can see numerous star consolations. Some guests like to sleep outside the tent under the moonlit sky!

Day 5 Trek to Amda n-Omssafi

After a nice breakfast, we set off for our next destination, Amda n-Omssafi, hopefully meeting some nomads from the Ait Aatta tribes on the way. They often invite us to share mint tea with them in their nomad tents. We then stop for lunch along the way and soon arrive at Amda-n-Ossafi Camp. Enjoy dinner prepared by your chef, followed by a relaxed evening before an early start tomorrow. Take in everything that the Sahara can offer for you. Chat with your leader about the history and the traditions and lifestyle of the locals in this area.

Day 6: First day of dune walking

We start early today with a tougher walk on purely desert sand. Lots of breaks and a picnic lunch in the middle of the dunes. The sand goes on for miles and guests are amazed by the immensity of the scenery and only our team will find the way through the vast open landscape. They knows the Sahara 'blindfolded' as they have walked it for years. Tonight, we will camp in the middle of the dunes! You will enjoy a absolutely amazing sunset here and wake up early for an equally memorizing Sahara sunrise.

Day 7: Second day of dune walking

Wake up early in the morning and discover the different footprints of animals and insects outside your tent. After breakfast, we steadily walk through the dunes enjoying lunch along the way and arriving at our evening camp on one of the highest dunes within this area. It’s about 50 meters high with incredible panoramic scenery.  We enjoy dinner and farewell to our desert team.

Day 8: Back to Marrakech

After breakfast, we pack our bags and the jeep will transport us from the camp directly to Marrakech. A long day driving with many breaks. We will drive through the famous dry lake of Iriqi, a flat scenic  favored by both local and tourists for ‘crazy rally driving’. The we will have a picnic stop on the way at Foumzguit before reaching our final destination of the bustling city of Marrakech. No doubt you will be ready to relax and take a swim at the hotel. You can even book a spa and massage via the hotel or visit one in the medina. In the evening, we offer an optional visit to the Jamaa Ifna Square to dine in a recommended traditional restaurant.
